Manolis Androulidakis – Composer, Soloists

Manolis Androulidakis, one of the most prominent virtuoso in classical guitar and composer presents a special project with works by Greek composers, including his own compositions. With his personal album ‘Myrtia’ (2016) -which is the official international recording with works of Mikis Theodorakis adapted for solo guitar- as a starting point, he presents famous Greek songs – from the two thousand year old melody of Seikilos’ “Epitaph” to the well-known Greek cinema themes from his upcoming album release with “Music from the Cinema”, and from the skilful notes of Manolis Chiotis to the robust melodies of the Greek traditional music, arranged for a “6 string orchestra”!

Manolis Androulidakis is among the greatest Greek musicians – hence was chosen to record a CD for the series “Famous Greek Soloists” (FM Records 2016.) He is renowned for the use of particular guitar techniques, such as the tremolo – apoyando and his “Mediterranean temperament” (as reported by famous Greek guitarist Thanos Mitsalas). With sophisticated taste, he comprehends as a performer how to permeate into the essence of the compositions, displaying his exemplary skills with rare coherence and a perfect executive style.

Greece as a place of inspiration in an explosive recital of guitar glamor!
